Out with the pumpkins, in with the turkey

// November 15th, 2008 // Mia

Wish I could have updated this sooner.  Sorry – finding time is proving to be difficult.  Who knew a 9-month-old would be so much work?  Answer: everyone reading this.

Halloween came and went and after collecting a whopping FIVE costumes for Mia, mom finally settled on a ballerina.  Can’t say I can argue with the selection seeing as how “boogie-ing” is Mia’s favorite pastime. Other costume runner-ups included a penguin, a pea pod, a fairy princess and a little devil.  Overboard? Perhaps, but I see a wicked game of dress-up down the road.

Halloween was great – Grandma and Grandpa B, Tom, Gina, Jake, Lily, Mark, Brandi and Emersyn all came by.  Jake the Gangster and Lily the Fairy Princess ransacked the neighborhood while Mia the Ballerina and Emersyn the Chicky decided enough was enough after two houses.  Not bad for a first trick-or-treat.  Film at eleven.  Any by eleven, I mean here:

Now we’re halfway thru November and it’s already been a loaded month.  Mia had her doctor appointment at Primary Childrens and everything went well!  She’s completely off the big meds now – just a little daily dose of calcium and an antibiotic for another month.  Then it’s back up to the hospital for some scans and if everything’s in check, we should be out of the woods.  Keep your fingers crossed!

Mom and dad celebrated our second anniversary on the 11th (well…sort of).  Mia’s had a bit of a cold this week, so we postponed the celebration to tonight – dinner at Cucina Toscana (mom’s favorite!).

Aside from that, it’s pretty much life as usual:  Dad’s perpetual quest to make the Jazz understand and live up to their greatness, mom’s tireless pursuit of getting Mia to eat, Mia’s steadfast desire to listen to neither of us.

More to come later – probably post-turkey, pre-Christmas.  Yes, Christmas – it’s tomorrow in case you didn’t know.  Off to the madness…

(PS – just added a boatload of new pictures to the October album in Shutterfly, so click, save or print…whatever it is you people do)
